We are a lean team of 3 co-founders (CEO, CPO, CTO), growing fast. We’re hiring foundational engineers who want high ownership, direct impact, and the chance to shape AI that meaningfully improves education.

The Role

You’ll build powerful, multi-agent systems on top of our existing AWS/Amplify infrastructure.

The React frontend is waiting for you to wire up APIs, orchestrate AI agents, and integrate with real school systems. Expect fast 1-week sprints, high autonomy, and frequent syncs with the co-founders. Ideally, there is no manual code writing in this role; strong architectural cohesion and documentation are the priority. PRDs and comprehensive plans, verified with Playright scenarios (acceptance criteria).

This is a full-time position with strong upside: meaningful equity, rapid path to full-time salary + bonus, and the opportunity to become a core technical leader in a mission-driven tech startup.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of backend logic, API design, database schema, testing, QA, deployment, and documentation (Notion)

• Proactively flag decisions, trade-offs, and risks for discussion with the CEO, CTO, and CPO

• Help calibrate velocity and ticket scoring with business requirements and stakeholder expectations.

Additionally, you will:

• Execute well-scoped user stories with speed and quality during 1-week sprints (Wed–Wed)

• Build and deploy agentic/multi-agent AI workflows for high-impact school use cases:

  • Fundraising automation

  • Tuition finance management

  • Intelligent parent communications

  • Predictive analytics for operations 

Requirements

Must-haves

• 5+ years of professional coding experience

• 5+ years of Engineering team management experience

• Proven experience in fast-paced early-stage startups

• Agile experience (sprints, user stories, velocity)

• Comfort owning the full cycle: architecture, database design, deployment, unit testing, QA

• Familiarity with AI-coding tools like Cursor, Claude Code; documentation-driven coding

• AWS CDK (cloud development kit)

• Fluent/native English speaker

Nice-to-haves

• Prior experience data privacy and compliance protocols (HIPAA, SOC2)

• Hands-on experience with multi-agent frameworks (RAG, MCP)

• AWS Amplify (deployment) + GCP database architecture familiarity

• PNPM workspaces

• Playwright

• AWS Bedrock

• Node RED
